Project Overview :
During my internship, I joined the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) division for the construction of UPT Vertikal Hospital Surabaya, a hospital facility owned by the Ministry of Health (Kementerian Kesehatan RI). The hospital stands on a 5.24 hectare site and is designed to provide advanced care for critical diseases such as heart disease, brain disorders, and cancer.

Skills I Learned:
This internship allowed me to build both technical and collaborative skills:
Plumbing System Design: Learned real-world plumbing planning, especially for healthcare buildings.
Microsoft Excel: Used to run calculations for hydraulic analysis and sizing components.
Communication: Coordinated with engineers and team members to review design decisions and resolve issues.
AutoCAD: Assisted in drawing updates, annotation corrections, and layout refinements.
Piping Layout Understanding: Understood vertical and horizontal piping distribution across hospital floors.
This was a meaningful experience that gave me insight into how engineering decisions impact essential services in healthcare. I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute to a national-scale health facility and to learn directly from professionals in the field. It has deepened my interest in MEP engineering, especially related to water and sanitation systems in complex buildings.
